During the last days of July and the first days of August, we celebrate Lammas, or Lughnasadh, named after the Irish sun god Lugh. This holiday is rooted in Celtic traditions, and is seen as a day of feasting, games, fun and dancing. Lammas is the first of three harvest festivals: Fields of grain were ripening, ready to be gathered. The name ‘Lammas’ was the Christian name given to this holy day, which translates literally to ‘Loaf Mass’ for the feast of bread to celebrate the wheat harvest. As Summer passes and the Wheel of the Year turns, remember to celebrate this special season, to acknowledge the warmth and abundance of its bounty, and share to fully by feasting with friends and family. Lammas is a time of transformation, of rebirth, and new beginnings. Also the perfect time to reflect on the year, honor our ancestors, be grateful, and to think about the seeds you have planted. What gifts have you grown and tended? What will you be harvesting?

August is a very special time for us, as we celebrate our 2nd MV Birthday! Wooooo Hooooo! We’re 2 years old! We opened on the New Moon of August 2006! I remember our first days, and I remember meeting some of you for the first time! For our anniversary, of course we’ve got some very cool stuff planned for you!

SPECIAL EVENT: We will be hosting MAX the Crystal Skull on August 15, 16 & 17th! There will be a lecture from MAX’s caretaker JoAnn Parks, as well as opportunities to book private meditation time - just YOU & MAX! Many who have been in the presence of the skulls feel they are from other dimensional realms. Many who have touched the skulls have had a range of experiences including instantaneous healing, received information about the origins of civilization, seen visions of other worlds, heard unusual sounds (including audible speech) and/or expanded their psychic abilities. This is an incredible opportunity to see MAX, and to explore this fascinating topic.
